You never what to be on a fishing excursion when the captain says, "we're going need a bigger boat." From a report on Fox 29 TV, there was a possible sighting of a Great White Shark! Pearson's Pursuit Inshore Fishing had ventured out about 22 miles from the Atlantic City shoreline to the Sea Isle Ridge recently for a recreational fishing trip.

While anxious to see what various fish may be biting in the area, they managed to photograph a large shark. Estimates by eye have the beast at 15 ft. Our first thought always is "great white." Before we send a call out to Chief Brody and Amity Harbor Patrol, (Jaws 1&2), experienced fishermen also theorize it could have been a harmless basking shark (they feed on surface plankton) which is similar to a whale shark which can grow to 26 feet.
