A small plane crash at Cross Keys Airport in Gloucester County, New Jersey, on Wednesday (July 2) left multiple people injured. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. ET when a Cessna 208B, reportedly involved in skydiving operations, crashed near the airport in Williamstown. The Gloucester County Emergency Management described the event as a "mass casualty incident" and advised the public to avoid the area to allow emergency vehicles access.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that 15 people were on board when the plane went down in a wooded area west of the airport. According to WPVI, at least five people were taken to the hospital following the crash.
Emergency responders, including Monroe Township Police and Gloucester County EMS, rushed to the scene, with Chopper 6 footage showing individuals being carried away on stretchers.
It is unknown what caused the plane to crash.
The FAA has launched a formal investigation into the incident.
