You guys, I have to tell you about my amazing friend Joanna Centeno. She is seriously a total hair queen and her story is so inspiring
Joanna has been into hair and makeup forever, mostly through theater, but she always thought of it as just a hobby. She was super focused on school and had big plans for a chemistry career. Then COVID happened, college went online, and everything kind of fell apart. By her third semester, she realized lab life just wasn’t her thing. With a little push from her mom who had been telling her since high school to try cosmetology, Joanna decided to give hair school a shot. And I am so glad she did
Hair school taught her so much. She loves connecting with people, talking to them, and making them feel good, and her job now gives her that every single day. Her chemistry knowledge also came in handy, especially with hair color and all the science stuff, so she definitely had a leg up
She also learned some of the harder lessons. Finding a salon that actually wants to help you grow even beyond them is so important. And even though we feel super close to our clients, most people really just want their hair done well. Balancing that connection with professionalism isn’t always easy, but Joanna is killing it
Honestly, Joanna is proof that sometimes the thing you think is just a hobby ends up being your calling. She’s building her brand one client at a time with mad skills and a big heart. Go book with my girly Joanna today. You will not regret it!
